Success Story: Clients Obtained Long-Term D Visas

Long-term D visas in France: features, limitations, and possible procedures for obtaining a residence permit.
The parents of our client obtained long-term D visas at the French consulate in Moscow. We submitted documents for a Visiteur visa, however, the consulate issued long-term D visas without the “Visiteur” stamp.
Such a visa allows entry into France, residence here for a year, as well as free travel in and out. However, in most cases, it does not provide the opportunity to obtain a Visiteur residence permit in France.
When applying to the prefecture, applicants usually receive a refusal. Instead of issuing a residence permit, they are offered to leave for their country of citizenship or a country of legal residence and reapply for a visa through the French consulate.
We have been dealing with such situations for many years. Therefore, even if our clients arrive in France with long-term D visas without the “Visiteur” stamp, we obtain for them a Visiteur residence permit directly in France, without the need to leave the country again.
